Sasaab Camp is a new property located near Samburu, on Samburu community land within the Ngutuk Ongiron Group Ranch also known as the West Gate Conservancy. The lodge is built using locally sourced materials and has a stylish Moroccan influence.
Sasaab accommodates up to 18 guests in nine individually located tents with magnificent views of the river and the true African wilderness, each over 100 sqm. Each tent has its own plunge pool and privacy. Electricity is solar powered, offering outlets for charging equipment in the tent. The uniquely designed tents are ideal for game viewing and bird-watching, as well as relaxing.
The mess tent provides a warm and friendly atmosphere. Meals are prepared with fresh ingredients and served in the privacy of various different areas of the mess tent or can be al fresco under the stars.
Sasaab offers a true wilderness experience with excursions into the famous Samburu Reserve known for its large herds of Elephant and the endangered Grevy Zebra.
Activities include twice-daily game drives, walking safaris along the river or in the grasslands, day trips to Samburu Reserve, mountain biking, camel riding and cultural excursions. Back at the lodge you may choose to relax by the main swimming pool, enjoy beauty treatments in the privacy of your tent or find a corner of your own to unwind. The camp is closed in November.
