Situated on the eastern side of Etosha, Onguma Game Reserve has more than 20,000 hectares of protected land and wildlife. The reserve boasts over 30 different animal species consisting of plains game including kudu, giraffe, eland, oryx, hartebeest, zebra, impala, as well as predators such as lion, cheetah, and leopard being common residents of the area.
Onguma Tented Camp offers a luxury bush experience, with guests accommodated in just seven individually designed en suite tents. All the tents and their outdoor showers have views over the waterhole nearby. Each tent has its own bath, shower and toilet, a fan, tea/coffee station, and a room safe. Mosquito nets are fitted to the windows and doors.
In the main living area there is a bar, restaurant and lounge.
Daily activities take place around the nearby watering hole. Giraffe, wildebeest, many species of antelope, zebra and even lion are known to visit the waterhole.
The latest addition to the already abundant wildlife at Onguma Nature Reserve is a family of black rhinos. During the Namibian summer months the nature reserve becomes a birdwatcher's paradise with thousands of species migrating to the wetlands created by the seasonal rains and ephemeral river systems.
