Melton Manor is a sole-use safari villa that sleeps up to 8 people with views of the river and mountains in three different directions. It is perfect for family holidays or parties of friends.
Accommodation is in 4 en suite bedrooms characterised by high ceilings and deep verandas, each overlooking the central courtyard and its large swimming pool. The bedrooms each have their own spacious bathroom and innovative “butler hatches” for discreet room service.
Guests at Melton Manor have use of a private 4x4 safari vehicle, butler, chef, and ranger and tracker team.
Safari enthusiasts from around the world visit Kwandwe to view Africa’s famous Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino - but the reserve is home to a wealth of other unique and interesting animals. Twice daily game drives allow guests to explore the diversity of Kwandwe on early morning and late afternoon/evening drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle. An armed ranger and tracker team will share their extensive knowledge of the bush and will track the Big Five, as well as a variety of other wildlife. As Kwandwe is a private reserve, night drives are a feature and often result in unusual sightings. The reserve is famous for numerous sightings of the rarely spotted porcupine. Both the aardwolf and aardvark are frequently seen on night drives.
Between game drives, guests can take a closer look at the intricate details of the bush on a leisurely walk within easy reach of the lodge. Dense euphorbia thickets are best explored on foot, revealing a secret world of lichen, mosses and ferns. Various birds of prey and other species nest in the taller trees or in the canopy.
