Samara Private Game Reserves is one of the largest private reserves (28,000 hectares/70,000 acres) in South Africa. It is also Malaria free.
The reserve contains 4 of South Africa's recognised Biomes (Thicket, Savanna, Grassland and Nama Karoo). This diversity allows a wide variety of flora and fauna to thrive. Flora includes ancient Shepherd's Trees, Wild Olives, Karoo Sage and Camphor bushes, amongst others.
During their stay, visitors to Samara may be privileged to see many of the natural inhabitants of these biomes, such as Cheetah, Buffalo, Wildebeest, White Rhino, Cape Mountain Zebra, Herds of Antelope, Giraffe, Aardvark, Meerkat, Leopard Tortoise and some 200 species of birds.
