Idube is a safari lodge situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, in the heart of South Africa’s premier wildlife conservation area of the Greater Kruger Park.
Idube has 9 en suite chalets, each individually decorated and with private deck. All chalets have air conditioning, fan, tea and coffee facilities, and outside shower. Bathrooms have recently been refurbished and all have double vanity basins, bath, toilet and shower and are finished in natural colours and textures.
The Makubela Suites are Idube’s new suites completed in 2011. Each spacious suite has an entrance hall, bedroom and lounge, large bathroom, including bath and shower, and a separate outside shower, which are accessible from both the bathroom and the outside deck. The 2 suites can be made inter-leading.
Activities include an early morning game drive and a late afternoon/evening game drive over an area of approximately 24,700 acres (10,000 hectares). Guests can expect to see some, if not all, the Big 5, as well as many other species of game and some of the over 300 species of birds.
Drives are normally 3 to 4 hours long, with a stop along the way for tea, coffee or sundowners. Idube is particularly well known for the frequent and excellent sightings of leopards.
