Mountain Lodge is situated on the crest of a mountain with dramatic views over the surrounding landscape.
Accommodation is in 25 split-level suites, each with en suite bathroom, private sitting area, and spacious veranda complete with private plunge pool and outdoor shower. The guest area is a magnificent u-shaped building with central al fresco courtyard, which provides comfort between exciting game drives. The sitting areas are filled with sunlight and the dining area overlooks the Reserve with the Ubombo Mountains in the distance.
Activities include twice-daily game drives in open safari vehicles, nature walks and excellent birding. Riverboat cruises and canoeing along the Mzinene River are also available. Phinda is a Big Five destination with excellent cheetah, white and black rhino, elephant, nyala and lion viewing, as well as diverse bird watching with approximately 400 different species. Optional activities, at additional cost, include breathtaking coastal flights, beach excursions including snorkelling and scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, turtle viewing, horse riding and cultural visits.
