Zuka Lodge is a sole-use villa accommodating families or groups of up to eight. The lodge includes private ranger/host, tracker, butler, chef and exclusive use of an open 4x4 safari vehicle.
Accommodation is in four thatched Zululand bush cottages set 15 metres apart, all with verandas overlooking a busy waterhole. Sitting areas feature built-in sofas which double up as beds for parents travelling with children 5 years and younger. Air-conditioned bedrooms have fans and en suite bathrooms, with a circular stone bath chamber, shower, separate WC and twin hand basins.
Guests at Zuka can tailor-make their day by discussing preferred safari activities with their private ranger. Activities include twice-daily game drives in open safari vehicles, nature walks and excellent birding. Riverboat cruises and canoeing along the Mzinene River are also available. Phinda is a Big Five destination with excellent cheetah, white and black rhino, elephant, nyala and lion viewing, as well as diverse bird watching with approximately 400 different species. Optional activities, at additional cost, include breathtaking coastal flights, beach excursions including snorkelling and scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, turtle viewing, horse riding and cultural visits.
