The Motse is located at the foot of the Korannaberg mountains, facing westwards across the grasslands of the Kalahari.
Accommodation consists of six legae (dwellings) and two three family suites built of local stone, red clay and traditional Kalahari thatch. Each legae has a spacious bedroom with an open fire, en suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor shower, and a large dressing and study area. All suites have a private sun deck overlooking the waterhole and the animals it attracts.
Three suites have been designed especially for families. Each offers two separate bedroom suites with their own en suite bathrooms, separated by a large living room leading on to a private terrace.
Tswalu offers unrivalled privacy in a vast, pristine wilderness. There is a maximum of ten vehicles in over 114,000 hectares. The expert field guides have been specially trained in Kalahari wildlife. Game drives at Tswalu are completely tailored to guests' interests, with each booking having a private vehicle, guide and tracker. As well as discovering many rare and endangered species for the first time, every guest leaves with a deep appreciation of the beauty of this entire eco-system.
Bush walks are a highlight at Tswalu and a morning can begin by visiting a habituated meerkat colony to watch these engaging mammals warm themselves in the sunshine before they scamper off to forage. Night drives offer the chance of exceptional sightings such as aardvark, aardwolf, porcupine or brown hyena at close range. For a Kalahari safari experience unlike any other, guests can also explore the dunes and savannahs on Tswalu's Horseback Safaris.
