Located on Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, Gondwana Family Lodge resembles a typical thatched Karoo homestead and offers 12 large luxury suites, each with views over the plains, Anysberg mountains and beyond.
The suites at Gondwana can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults sharing with 2 children, with sleeper couch. There is a children's activity room, spacious lawn, outdoor play area, and pool providing entertainment for the whole family. Children can partake in various social, sporting and art activities such as bead making, clay making activities, face painting and star gazing.
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve has the Big 5 – Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino, as well as various other species such as Gemsbok, Springbok, Hartebeest, Eland, Kudu, Black Wildebeest and Zebra. Natural small game such as Jackal, Caracal, Aardwolf, Ant bear, Brown Hyena, Grey Rhebuck, Steenbuck, Klipspringer, Grysbok and Common Duiker also continue to thrive.
Game drives traverse the landscape of the reserve with a qualified ranger in comfortable open Landcruisers. During the drive, be it in the early morning or for sundowners, various species of plants, animals, big game and birds can be seen. Sundowner evening drives offer spectacular displays of light as the sun sets over the Little Karoo. Optional walks with the guidance of a ranger are also available. From gentle strolls, taking in the beauty of the indigenous fauna and flora, to challenging trails discovering isolated bush, these walks reveal the beauty of Sanbona Wildlife Reserve.
