Ndarakwai Camp is a permanent tented lodge on Ndarakwai Ranch. With views of both Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru, the camp is nestled in a lush forest that lines the seasonal Ngare Nairobi River.
Facilities include 12 spacious tents with thatched roofs, with en suite bathrooms with safari-style showers, and a large separate dining area. Catering to a maximum of 24 guests, Ndarakwai Camp offers an intimate atmosphere where all guests' needs are catered for. Mealtimes are flexible and can be arranged with your guide and the Camp Manager. Picnic lunches, bush breakfasts, and a bush campfire and bar are easily arranged. In the evening guests can gather around either of the 2 indoor fireplaces, or around an outdoor campfire for snacks and sundowners.
Guests can relax in camp during the day, or take in the variety of wildlife and cultural activities that are on offer. Guided full or half-day walks (where the emphasis can either be on game or bird watching), game drives, and night game drives are all available. Guests can also visit local Maasai villages to photograph and buy authentic beaded jewellery. With Chuo cha Farasi, a Horse-back Safari Company now based at Ndarakwai, guests can go for half or full-day horse rides from camp. Multiple day rides are also possible by prior arrangement. Day trips to Arusha National Park and into Kilimanjaro National Park are also easily arranged. There is also a unique 'tree house' where guests can watch game coming to drink at the waterhole.
