ITINERARY IDEA

Day 1 - 5

Accommodation: The Ritz-Carlton Doha

Meal Basis: Half Board

Once little more than a tiny pearl fishing village, Doha, Qatar's capital and largest city has, in recent years, undergone a makeover of epic proportions thanks to the minuscule nation’s enormous oil wealth and rather ambitious goal of becoming the greatest powerhouse of the Middle East. Visitors today will discover a vibrant tourist hub. Excessively high skyscrapers, lavish hotels and extravagant malls have replaced the vast stretches of undeveloped land that once covered the city’s landscape and historic markets have been renovated to reveal modern twists. While there is little of historical interest, the city’s array of impressive museums, its world-class shopping opportunities and its jaw-dropping over-the-top architecture mean there’s no shortage of things to keep visitors blissfully entertained.

There is a huge choice of impressive luxury hotels to choose from. catering for all ages, personal style and interests; including The Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons Doha and W Doha Hotel.

ABOUT QATAR

Qatar is one of the safest places in the world and has established itself as one of the region's cultural capitals. Qatar is home to some of the finest cultural landmarks, some dating back thousands of years, demonstrating the nation's rich history and culture.

The Qatar peninsula has beaches galore with a 563 kilometre-long sandy coastline with numerous small islets, sand bars and reefs. Visitors can enjoy relaxing, swimming, or many water sports on Qatar's sparkling shores with their exceptionally clear and clean blue waters.

WHERE TO GO AND WHEN

The best time to visit Qatar is between October and April, when the temperature dips. The coolest months are December, January and February. The high temperatures (touching 50°C in July-August) coupled with a 90% humidity restricts outdoor activities during summer, but there is still plenty to do within many of Qatar's well-equipped indoor facilities.

WHAT TO DO

With the sun shining every day and a surprisingly rich ecology, Qatar offers an engaging natural environment to explore. The surrounding desert provides a great deal of interest and adventure with such natural landmarks as the Dhal Al Misfir, Desert Roses and the Singing Sand Dunes.
