That’s why, through our Distinguished Journeys collection, we pledge that for every booking made we will contribute £20.00 to a foundation or conservation programme in the destination our guests are travelling to. In this way, each adventure becomes part of a greater story and one that nurtures both people and place.
Sports Development Foundation –
Grootbos, South Africa
The Grootbos Foundation believes sport can change the course of a young person’s life. In a region where opportunities are limited, football pitches and netball courts become gateways to growth, confidence, and possibility.
Through structured coaching, children from disadvantaged communities learn far more than sporting skills. They gain teamwork, leadership, and resilience, qualities that extend into school, work, and community life. For many, the programme also provides safe spaces, mentorship, and positive role models, offering an alternative to the challenges of poverty, unemployment, and social instability.
The Foundation connects sport with education. Talented young players are guided towards scholarships, vocational training, and career pathways, helping them step into brighter futures. By giving young people purpose and belonging, the Sports Development Programme plants seeds of hope that grow well beyond the boundaries of the playing field.

Ele-Collection – Zambia & Zimbabwe
Plastic waste is one of the greatest hidden threats to Africa’s wilderness. The Ele-Collection turns this challenge into an opportunity.
Local communities and lodge teams collect discarded plastics from Victoria Falls and surrounding areas. Instead of going to landfill or being burned, the waste is transformed into Plazrok, an innovative material stronger than concrete, used to build schools, houses, and community infrastructure.
The result is twofold: Africa’s wild spaces are freed from harmful plastics, and local communities benefit from durable, sustainable building blocks that improve everyday life. By supporting Ele-Collection, travellers become part of a solution that protects both wildlife and people, ensuring that Africa’s landscapes remain as pristine as the experiences they inspire.

Born Free – Kenya & Beyond
Since 1984, Born Free has stood at the forefront of global wildlife protection, working tirelessly to end the exploitation and suffering of wild animals. From rescuing individuals kept in captivity to safeguarding threatened species in their natural habitats, the charity champions a future where animals and people can live in harmony.
In Africa, Born Free’s projects focus on anti-poaching patrols, human–wildlife coexistence, and protecting endangered species such as lions, elephants, and giraffes. By addressing the threats of habitat loss, conflict, and captivity, Born Free ensures that the wild remains truly wild.
Supporting Born Free means helping to build a world where wildlife thrives and future generations inherit a planet rich in nature’s wonders.

Twende Porini – Tanzania
In Swahili, Twende Porini means “Let’s go to the bush”, inviting children to see their heritage in a new light.
Groups of schoolchildren from rural villages bordering the Serengeti and Ngorongoro travel into the national parks for multi-day camps. Here, lessons take place under the acacia trees and alongside the wildlife they have grown up with. Guided by conservation educators and rangers, the children learn about ecosystems, endangered species, and the vital role communities play in protecting them.
The programme also builds self-confidence and broadens horizons. For many of these young participants, it is their first time sleeping in a tent, seeing lions up close, or speaking with role models working in conservation.
By nurturing awareness and ownership in the next generation, Twende Porini is planting the seeds of long-term conservation, ensuring that the future stewards of East Africa’s wilderness are informed, inspired, and empowered.
